Welcome to Sigmy.com. The Sigmy site is here to help you choose the best Computer Services Company for your project. After working in the Chicago IT industry for many years, I know how difficult it is to find a quality company in our area.

Finding Chicago computer services does not have to be the most painful experience of your life. Simply click on the links at the top of this page, follow our advice and/or simply choose one of the Sigmy.com prescreened Chicago computer services companies.

For individual services we will get more in depth, but for now always be sure to follow these five basic rules before hiring any IT Company:

  1. Meet them – Always be sure to meet a salesperson and a technician. If anything doesn’t feel right or it is difficult to setup an appointment, move on.
  2. Quiz them – Be sure to ask a lot of questions specific to your environment. If you’re running UNIX or Microsoft, be sure the company has expertise in your operating environment.
  3. Check References – Get at least three references and call them! Of course, the IT company will put their best foot forward but it still definitely pays to check references.
  4. Search the Internet - You would be amazed by the information you can find just by searching a company name. This step is critical! Have a look at the other sites that come up in the search results. Any complaints? Awards?
  5. Employees – Ask everyone that comes through your door if they’re an employee of the company or a part-time contractor. Be very careful if you see different faces each time you put in a service call.

Considering the importance of our computer systems these days, you can never be too careful. Any computer services company that doesn’t spend the time to answer all of your questions should be avoided. In addition, take steps to ensure the company you choose will be in business tomorrow!

One of the biggest problems with the Chicago IT industry is the new companies that spring up everyday. Individuals get laid off from their full-time job and due to the economy have a hard time finding a new one. Of course, we all want to help these individuals get back to work. However, it could be a disaster if you entrust your entire infrastructure to an individual that simply finds a job and stops answering the phone. I have seen this scenario play out a million times. Always be sure to do business with a solid company that has been in business at least three years.
