There are many Chicago area website designers that can handle most projects. Many of these developers do outstanding work for very low rates. I’m amazed by the quality of work that is out there now. Due to the low cost and availability of these web designers, there is no excuse for having a poorly done website. When starting a new project, simply look around, get bids from many companies and scrutinize their portfolios.

Once you find a company you like, my best advice is to make the terms of the agreement very clear. Most will bid your project at a flat rate and offer you unlimited revisions until you’re 100% satisfied.

The design company’s job is to build your website and make it look the way you want it to. They have no responsibility to have your site found by search engines. The best website in the world is worthless if it has no visitors. I highly recommend you choose a different company to do your SEO/SEM. While some design companies offer these services, it is much better to use an external company that is responsible for the Internet Marketing. It is also critical the marketing company is involved with the project from day one. If possible, do not hire the web design company before the SEO business.

Once again, only work with Chicago website developers that quote a single price for the work. While there are many hourly companies, this always leads to problems.
